Samsung Washing Machines - Child Lock 30/01/2015

The Child Lock function on the Samsung washer locks all the buttons on the machine, other than the power button, so that the wash cycle selected can’t be changed.  In addition at the end of the wash cycle, if the Child lock is activated it automatically powers off the machine.

The child lock remains active, after the power is turned off or after disconnecting and reconnecting the machine from the mains.  This is a safety feature that ensures that a child cannot tamper with the wash at any stage, even when it has finished.

However, a customer using this feature for the first time may believe that the machine has developed a fault because they can’t use the machine until the Child Lock has been de-activated.

Activating/Deactivating The Child Lock

  • When active, the "Child Lock " indicator will light up (padlock symbol) on the front panel.
  • To activate or deactivate the Child Lock function, hold down both the “Temp” and “Spin” buttons for 3 seconds, see the diagram below.
